Do you need a qualified math tutor in Austin, TX?  If so, we can help.

About me:  I have been teaching mathematics for over 8 years at the college/university level and tutoring for over 15 years.  Currently I teach part time at Austin Community College, but have also taught at Vanderbilt University (a top 20 ranked university) and at the University of Louisville.

Although the bulk of my tutoring comes from the University of Texas - Austin, I tutor a number of middle school and high school students around town as well.  In addition, I have worked with students from just about every college/university in Austin at some point.

I also have a number of wonderful people who help me tutor in Austin and Nashville.  Everyone I hire must possess AT LEAST an undergraduate degree in mathematics or applied math (such as engineering or computer science) and obviously be a strong, but patient communicator.  A good tutor anticipates questions before they are ever verbalized by the student.  Teaching is my passion, and I make sure that those who work with me have the same love and enthusiasm for teaching mathematics.

Often times, people are nervous about getting help in math: don't be!  I tell my students all the time that math is challenging for all of us at one point or another.  My intent is to provide clear and thorough explanations, and to present them in an environment in which the student is comfortable.   Although I do not promise to make someone into an A+ student overnight, with regular help just about every student I have encountered makes significant improvements over time.  Think about learning math in the same way you would learn to play piano or learn another language: it takes time, patience, and LOTS of practice.

My schedule does fill up very quickly each school year, so feel free to contact me at any point about availability.  I keep a very, very busy schedule, but I do my best to respond to everyone within 24 hours.

Lastly, I have tons of free math videos that you can view as often as you like (choose from the tabs on the left).  You can also use them as a chance to see my teaching style and methods of explaining different problems.  Of course, in a real life session there is a lot of interaction between us - something that is lacking in the videos, although I do my best to address common mistakes and common questions in the videos .

I am more than happy to provide numerous references upon request!
